What Is a Biblical Worldview? with George Barna

If you have adopted my written content for any amount of money of time in the past 12 months, you have listened to me speak consistently about the jarring studies relevant to the shrinking percent of Americans who have a biblical worldview (this was in particular pertinent history context for my most recent e book, Faithfully Distinct: Regaining Biblical Clarity in a Secular Tradition). I’ve published and talked about a good deal of diverse studies and numbers, but two of the most pertinent data points are these: 65% of People in america self-determine as Christians, but investigate on people’s true beliefs and behavior shows that only about 6% have a biblical worldview. This massive hole has several implications for the church now.

But how particularly do researchers determine a biblical worldview? How do they get to that 6% estimate? And is it actually a reliable picture of in which we are as the church in America? In this episode, I get into all the aspects with the guy at the rear of the investigation: Dr. George Barna, who is the Director of Investigate for Arizona Christian University’s Cultural Analysis Heart.

Dr. Barna solutions inquiries these types of as:

  • How his crew arrived at their set of 54 inquiries (throughout 8 perception and behavior types) to measure the biblical worldview in America
  • Why behavioral questions are an vital component of measuring worldview (and not only beliefs)
  • No matter whether “secondary issues” such as denominational specifics and views on the age of the Earth/evolution are section of the biblical worldview definition utilised
  • How a agent sample is selected
  • What the parameters are for working with study answers to categorize persons as acquiring a biblical vs. other worldview
  • What we can do as the system of Christ to enhance the percent of self-identified Christians who keep to a biblical worldview
